As a family we have a set of house rules and we expect everyone that comes into our home to respect our rules. The rules we have are to ensure that we can maintain a safe and happy environment. I will talk to the children both individually and as a group and discuss what is being asked of them but I would also like you as a parent/carer to sit down with your child before they start and explain what is expected of them when they are in my care.
• Always do what we are asked to do
• Be kind to each other and also to the animals in the house
• Be polite and don’t use rude words
• Never climb, jump or stand on the furniture
• Never open the front door unless there is a grown-up with you
• Never undo your seatbelt when we are in the car until I say you can
• Always cross the road safely
• Stay close to an adult and work as part of a group when we are out and about
• Treat the toys and other play equipment with respect
I keep a fire blanket and a fire extinguisher in the kitchen in case a fire should break out. I also have smoke alarms on all floors. I carry out fire drills shortly after a new child starts, and then every month so that all of the children in my care understand what they need to do in the event of a real fire.
